All About Jo Jo

Meet our little man Jo Jo!!!

Jo Jo was diagnosed with Autism in September 2013 at 2 1/2 years of age. He is a very sweet soft spoken toddler who love's to play with his car's! He also love's playing with his older sister Caylee who is 3 1/2 years old. They can be two pea's in a pod or they can be like fire and ice!

Some fact's about Jo Jo and his Autism

1. Jo Jo has trouble focusing/concentrating

2. Jo Jo tends to not do very well in large crowds (he may start to wine then it get's ugly)

3. Jo Jo currently doesn't like water over his head or his hair cut (usually cry's and wants snuggles from mom)

4. Jo Jo doesn't like loud noises (he sometimes cover's his face with his hands or cover's his ear's with his hands)

5. Jo Jo has selective hearing and difficulty listening to instruction's

6. Jo Jo like's to chew on things (mostly the corner of his favorite blankie and certain toys)

7. Jo Jo has become a very picky eater (he shakes his head no, or pushes my hand away and sometime's he may decide to just have a tantrum because he is being picky)

8. Jo Jo does not like his nails trimmed

9. Jo Jo does not respond to his name

10. Jo Jo will sometime's run with his head to the side (creates a safety issue when he doesn't look where he is going)

11. Jo Jo loves anything with WHEELS!!! (he will play with a car for hours, he like's to watch the wheels spin)

12. Jo Jo has no FEAR! (he will jump off of just about anything, no regard for safety)

13. Jo Jo can and will play rough (typical boy)

14. Jo Jo will tantrum if you take his car away

15. Most nights I pick Jo Jo up off his bedroom floor and put him back to bed, we think it is a sensory thing when he sleep's on the hardwood floor.

16. Jo Jo love his number's!!! he will count anything and everything, if he does see a number he will let you will hear it. (love's Calender's)

17. Jo Jo is also obsessed with letter's!!! He love's the alphabet and recite's the whole thing any chance he get's. He reads street signs and poster's everywhere he goes. He even tell's you what aisle number your in when at the grocery store.

18. Jo Jo is a runner!!! He will run as soon as you let go of his hand! Another safety issue!

19. Jo Jo love's to play outside!

20. Jo Jo love's to snuggle! could be partially a sensory issue also, they say it could full fill his sensory need to be hugged tight and be snug as a bug in my lap lol
